Question Top three-five LC items??

Hey there!

I am planning a shopping trip in Niagara Falls USA (I'm from TOronto) and will be hitting up some of the grocery stores there to purchase some LC items (since Canada blows in the way of having any good ones at ALL) .

I was just wondering if any of you could give me some advice as to which products I should look for (no idea what is out there) in the supermarket? Which items are your staples, and your absolute faves??? Everything from LC shakes to Ketchup, to LC snack items to yogurt would be greatly appreciated. Anything actually....

Which grocery stores stock the best LC items?

If you could give me a list of your top 3-5 would be helpful.

I have my writing utensil and a piece of paper handy for my "shopping list".

SHoot......

well.. i have tried many... and many have moved to the bottom of my list... my personal
#1 staple of a LC convience food is Dream fields pasta (its a caution tho if you are at all sensitive or have suggar problems you should not try this beacuse it has caused an effect on some whom have tried it the same as any regualr pasta ) It can be bought at any walmart super center (at least i think it can)
#2 Lc wraps/ tortilas Pretty much any brand i have bought works the same .. some have a more soy taste than others but i usualy put high flavord foods in them that drounds out the taste of the wrap anyway just works nice and less carbs than most breads i have found .
#3 dannon LC yougart i think it is called Carb something ..(sorry havent bought it in a ffew weeks tho..) but its REALY GOOD! )
#4 Carb option terriakie sauce(realy any all of the carb option stuff i have tried was good. but i have only tried the teriakie sauce and the itialian marinade and their dried packaged soups...) YUMMERS great for creating your own homemade chinese style food or any thing you would use regualr teriakie sauce on..
#5 Advanced Edge strawberry cream shake.. they are pretty good... i have one or two a month.. when i need a FAST breakfest i stick them in the freezer one afternoon (usualy when i know im gona have a buisy morning the next day ) then i take them out right befor i go to bed and stick it in back of fridge so it stays REALY COLD and still almost frozen.. shake it up realy good and out the door i go.. that is the only flavor i have tried of them.. and i didnt gag on it so i stuck w/ it... laugh..

Good luck and have a nice trip..
btw and not saying anything bad about the US.. i love my country.. but i personaly found the fall view better from canada... i would trade all of my LC convience foods to live in canada.. such a beautifull country.. ahh what who am i foolin.. i love my country too.. but was just saying...

I live in southern California, which is like low-carb ground zero. I've tried a number of low-carb products and there are almost none that I will buy anymore. Most of the treats, even the Atkins label ones, will sabotage your WOE.

You might want to keep your eyes peeled for sugar-free Davinci or Torani syrups. Those have a number of good uses. You might also want to snag some Flax-O-Meal, if you can find it, or you can make it yourself using Maggie's Recipe (in the recipes section here) from the raw ingredients.

Soy Slender Chocolate Soymilk is great.

I like the Atkins Steak Sauce. It's the only Atkins brand item that I bother with.

That's about it as far as low-carb specialty items that I consume. Avoid the low-carb cookies and candy bars and ice cream.

Hmmmmmm, well for me, i buy most of my groceries from super walmart. now if you can keep the items refrigerated the following are must haves for me.

1. Hood carb countdown milk.....No 1 all time favorite.
2. blue bunny lc yogurt, .50 a cup at walmart. my next favorite
3. Carb Chopper lc whole wheat tortillas, found at sams club
4. mt olive, sugarfree splenda sweetened relish to use in my tuna salad, chicken salad and deviled eggs, tastes so good.
5. Wouldnt recommend this as a frequent treat, but if you need some chocolate, Hersheys 1gr carb choc bars, they really hit the spot for the that choc craving.
6. DaVinci sugarfree syrups, they have more flavors than baskin robbins could dream of. lol
7. Dreamfields pasta, to me the best lc pasta on the market. But a lot of folks cant eat it, some can tho.
8. Blue Bunny Choc Almond Fudge Ice cream, my favorite ice cream. Although Breyers has some pretty good portion controlled bars as well.

oops you said 3-5, i kinda went overboard, lol. However the top 4 are everyday must haves for me. Must have them around at all times.

My favorite LC treats are not actually LC premade stuff--but here goes
sliced cucumbers in zesty Italian dressing
Cauliflower and broccoli in Zesty Italian dressing
-DH's favorite-Celery w/peanut butter (real all natural stuff)
Tam-X-Ico whole wheat (these aren't highly processed and I ate them before I started lcing--they just happen to only have 5 carbs per wrap) wraps with roast beef or chicken breast and lettuce, dill spear, salsa, cucumber, shredded cheese and tomato diced
Sour Cream ranch dip and fresh veggies--radishes, cucumbers, cauliflower, green onions, broccoli, you name it--if you can dip it I do!!!!
cottage cheese
yogurt about 1/2 cup (full fat plain) with blueberries (about 1/4 cup)
BBQ hot wings (not breaded) with ranch dip
grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, steaks, chicken breasts, chicken legs, pork chops, heck, I like grilled meat!!!! Veggies are awesome off the grill too!
Salad veggies-almost anything except spinach

My favorites are:

Carb Countdown Yogurts - any flavor (I think they have the best taste out of all the low carb yogurts)

Carb Countdown Strawberry Smoothie

Atkins Advantage Cafe Au Late Shake

Z-Carb Choc Bars (made with erythinol or however you spell it)

Carb Options Olive Oil Vinagrette Dressing

I try to stay away from all the lc choc bars as much as possible since they are loaded with sugar alcohols....might have one every once in a while as a treat and that's not very often.

Lc tortillas (can be used for breakfast, lunch or dinner)
LC Bread - I use Natures' Own - I believe it has 7 grm per slice
I did try Krusteaze LC Pancake mix and really liked it.
(like bisquick) but since I just got it it should last a great while.
Bulk Splenda
That's about all I use - don't eat the bars, or other lc stuff, rather eat real think if I have to have something.

Carb Options French Dressing. Gotta have it, now that I found it. Sure, it's pricey....very....but I love it, and a little goes a looooonnnngggg way on a salad. Can also be used when grilling chicken, as a BBQ sauce.

1) Cream cheese
2) Heavy cream
3) REAL butter, or Plugra if you're feeling rich and famous
4) Eggs (over easy, scrambled, deviled, hard boiled) So nutritious and convenient!
5) Pre made hamburger patties from the meat dept of the store (Grill 10 at a time, keep some in fridge, freeze some for a quick meal/snack) same goes for the frozen chicken breasts
6) Canned green beans, a quick easy way to get your lc veggies in!
7) Prepackaged romaine hearts...cut em up for a quick salad!
8) Pre-cut broccoli and cauliflower for snacking/dipping
9) flax meal
10) almond meal/flour
11) wheat bran
12) soy protein isolate

As for 'lc products', I only stick to a few:
LC tortillas/wraps
yoplait ultra LC yogurt
occasional pints of Keto ice cream
Liquid splenda (completely ZERO carb, no noticeable aftertaste to me, a must for my coffee and iced tea)
DaVinci or Torani SF syrups
