Smile Can tea help weightloss?

I am sitting here drinking cinnimon apple spice tea with a touch of splenda and it is GREAT! It also makes me feel full for quite a while.

Have any of you made tea a daily part of your diet and can it help?

I also like black tea as well. Any tea suggestions? Favorites?

My Mother is getting me some black licorice tea and it sounds so good to me.

I do drink tea, but water is the beverage you need lots of. Tea will not substitute for the water. If you are drinking it to feel full, you are not eating til you are satisfied. You should not feel hungry on a low carb diet.

I too drink tea IN ADDITION to my water. I have pretty much given up coffee except for very ocassionally. But I do like a hot beverage in the morning at my desk. I try to stick to green tea and herb tea--caffeinated tea can make you retain water...it is vitally important that whatever tea you do drink is in addition to your required water.

Tea is great for you--lots of antioxidents and studies show green tea can be helpful in weight loss but you have to fdrink three cups a day to get that benefit, I think.

Happy Tea Time!

I drink green tea everyday. My doctor says drinking green tea helps speed up your metabolism, and is healthy for you. Flushes out the bad stuff!

I replaced my coffee habit with a pot of green tea every morning: 2 teabags, 4 C. water, 2 pkgs. Splenda, brew for 4 minutes. I don't know if it helps with weightloss, but it is much kinder to me that coffee was - no heartburn or afternoon drops.

I also have herbal tea at night sometimes, with a little Splenda, to replace my late-night TV snacking habit. In that case, I KNOW it helps with my weight loss.

Please use care with licorice tea, which can have a powerful affect on the adrenal system and has well documented toxicity in excessive amounts. I seem to remember that even if used for its medicinal properties (and it does have some) it should only be used for a couple of months.
