| Has anyone tried this?? It's supposed to be able to "perfectly" hard boil eggs (only 4 at a time) in the micorwave in 7 minutes. Normally, I wouldn't bother but the price is good and my last batch of HB eggs came out cemented to the shell (they weren't older eggs, so I'm sure that's the reason. But the idea of 7 minutes and I don't have to baby sit a pot of water sparked my interest. feedback?? Thanks! Tara |

| Tara, I haven't personally tried the MW egg cooker, but I've wondered how well it works. Hope we get some feedback. You're right about fresh eggs sticking to the shell when you boil them. Something I do that basically solves this problem is use a push pin and puncture the larger, round end of the egg before I put them in the water to boil. This creates a tiny vacuum inside the egg when the water begins to boil, and a minuscule amount of water is pulled inside the egg and creates some sort of barrier between the egg white and the membrane. Yack, probably more info than you were looking for, but it really works. |

| Tara, I have not tried the microwave egg cooker. I do mine the old fashioned way. I bring a pot of cold water and the eggs to a boil over medium heat. I then cover the pot and remove it from the heat and let the eggs stand for 30 minutes (sometimes a lot longer, if I get tied up doing other things) then I simply drain off the warm water, fill the pot with cold water. drain the water again, shake the pan the crack the shells and fill with cold water again and then begin peeling the eggs. They usually peel very easily and do not have any grey/green coloration around the yolks. If you get the microwave cooker, let us know how it does.

| Tara..yes I have one at home and one at work. I have found it takes 9 minutes to cook 4 large eggs to hard cooked. Now and then an egg will break but they do in boiling water sometimes too. I have also had one or two get what appears to be a burn mark. The eggs come out great.

| Thanks all, I may give it a try and if I do I'll happily let you all know the results. I'm not real big on buying what Alton Brown calls 'unitaskers' (things that have only one purpose) - but this is tempting!!!! |

| I have one too, and I really like it. The time it takes to cook and egg will depend on the wattage of your microwave (I have what I believe to be the very first microwave ever made ).I really like it for making soft-boiled eggs. I think you'll like it, and really, they're not that expensive. Let us know what your thoughts are after you get one.

| I have one too, and I like it. (I was pleasantly surprised that it does work as expected.) You have to learn the time it takes for your microwave, and it should sit for about 2 minutes after it's done nuking to finish cooking. Sometimes, as Deb mentioned, one will crack, but once you know the time for your microwave, that isn't a big problem, and it allows me to fix hb eggs a few at a time, the way I'm most likely to eat them. |

| i had one of those but can't remember how well it worked. My dad bought me the Paula Dean egg & muffin cooker. It sat unused forever until our toaster died. It originally did boiled eggs awesomely! you just add the eggs & water to the machine and it cooked them for you. It even timed it to where if you were making toast or whatever it would be done the same time as the eggs are w/o burning. But lately all my eggs are soft boiled when I get them out. I need to figure out whats wrong with it. The thing was awesome! |
