Default Toufayan Low Carb Pita bread

Ordered a few packages of Toufayan low carb Pita Bread from Netrition.com a few days back. They arrived in time for today's lunch. They are 130 calories for each 2 ounce pita circle. With 16g carb of which 9 are fiber they are a net carb count of 7. Not bad considering one low carb pita is the equivalent of 2 slices of low carb bread. The first 3 ingredients are Water, wheat gluten, Stone ground whole wheat flour. I like that last ingedient. They taste like regular Pita bread but I think I like this one better, They're softer. Have not eaten a regular pita in years so I may not be remembering exactly what they tasted like. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who eats low crab bread.

That sounds very good, Rob. I think I'll give those a try. I missed pita bread, but haven't touched it for a few years, myself.

Good to know, Rob. I miss the days of a pita stuffed with chicken salad and alfalfa sprouts.

Dixie, I love the product review forum. Thanks!

WalMart has a low carb pita and also a Lavash(wrap) bread available also. The brand is Joseph's Oat Bran & Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread (5 net carbs), and Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour Lavash Bread (4 net carbs). They are located in the Deli section of WalMart. They are very good and they both freeze well.

i need to start up my shopping list! thank you all for the ideas and tips...neti, i think it's a good idea to ration those, too...it would probably be easy enough to start snarfing them up (if you're anything like me)!

Yeah, on the Lavash and the Pita, I like to cut them up with a pizza cutter, spray with some olive oil(or other), sprinkle with salt, garlic salt, onion powder (or whatever you like), and bake in the oven and use as crackers or chips for "taco salad", egg salad, or with a soup, or cream cheese dip. One lavash makes a lot of chips! You can also deep fry the strips and then salt them for crispier chips.
