Default Splenda-Sweetened Drinks

I love the Diet Ocean Spray drinks. I buy the cranberry and the grape cranberry. These have 3 carbs per cup, 2 of which are sugar.

I also love the Diet V8 Splash drinks, which are 2 carbs per cup, and this is sugar.

I never drink them straight up. I like to make a pitcher of orange drink (I like the WalMart brand, even though it's sweetened with aspartame, it tastes the best of all the brands I've tried), and leave out about a cup of the water, and add in a cup of the Diet V8 Splash, whatever flavor. Or, the Diet Ocean Spray cranberry. Either makes the orange drink taste like a fruit punch. I'll mix the Diet Ocean Spray grape cranberry with a grape drink (again, WalMart brand), same combo.

You could also mix these drinks with your own Splenda-sweetened Kool-Aid. Just remember that if you use the bulk Splenda, it'll be 24 carbs for the cup you use in the 2 quarts of Kool-Aid. If you use liquid Splenda, it will be 0 carbs.

And, a dash of any of those drinks in a glass of diet ginger ale or Sprite or 7-Up would be a fantastic summer cooler. It doesn't take an entire cup to make a good cooler. Just a couple of ounces should do. These have a lot of flavor, and a little goes a long way.

I think I might try to add some diet ocean spray to my sun tea! Thanks for the spark!

Ladies, you make me blush!

I think good cooking is part imagination and part desperation - wanting something different. And I'm always trying to find substitutes for things I used to love. I love juice, not a fan of Kool-Aid, but a combo of the drinks makes a nice compromise.
