| This is truly a fantastic find. I know a lot of you use Almond Breeze, and it really is a great low-carb product. For the original and vanilla, a cup is 40 calories, 3 g fat, 2 g carbs, 1 fiber, so 1 net carb. For the chocolate, 45 calories, 3.5 fat, 3 carbs, 1 fiber, so 2 net carbs. Remember, these are not sweetened, so a touch of sweetener is in order. You can use it on cereal, in coffee, for your protein shake, etc. I have bought mine from Netrition, but I also found it at an HEB grocery store. You can get a list of stores where it's available at the Blue Diamond website. This is a product that I keep on hand. It is shelf stable, but tastes better cold, unless you heat up the chocolate for hot chocolate. Or, use the vanilla or original, add a dash of low-carb chocolate syrup, and heat up. This could also be sweetened with any flavor of syrup you have on hand. It could also probably be used for custards, etc. It's a very versatile product. For some, the price may be prohibitive, but for the occasional treat, it's a great product.

| Thanks, Nita! I think I'll try some of this with my next netrition order. Here's a handy link to Almond Breeze.

| I just discovered this in the past few days. It's great! I noticed that on the netrition site it's over $3.00 a container. I found it at Henry's Marketplace (Wild Oats Markets in other states) for $2.19. I'm pretty sure they would have it at Trader Joe's too but I haven't checked.

| I was low on cream for my coffee this morning so I used some of this, the vanilla flavor, and it was GREAT! I'm thinking this might become a regular in my coffee!

| Oh I know Dixie, I LOVE coffee!! I use vanilla light soymilk in my decaf coffee. Doc said that my heart was not doing well on coffee so I gave it up completely a few months ago. Then my weight started to creep up and I didn't feel like I had any type of treat so changed to decaf and my food choices are better controlled now. Heart doing well too! We all need something right? I gave up cigarettes, drinking, sugar, junk food and caffeine so decaf coffee is a must. |

| I mixed the unsweetened vanilla equally with cream for my coffee. Cut the calories way back, and the taste is ok. Try the chocolate sometime, for a different taste treat. I find that when I use the unsweetened almond milk, I need just a touch of sweetener, not enough to make the coffee sweet, just enough to mimic the natural sweetness of the cream.

| That's a great idea Nita. That's sort of what I did. I just didn't mix it beforehand. I was low on cream so I supplemented with the Almond Breeze. I also like this stuff just in a glass, to drink like milk. It's really quite tasty!

| I did like you said Nita and mixed a container of cream with an equal amount of vanilla flavored Almond Breeze for my coffee. I like it even btter than just heavy cream. It really adds a nice flavor to my coffee.

| ... and let me post an alert to anyone picking this up at a store. I was shopping the other day and saw Almond Breeze on the shelf! Cool, I thought and picked up the "original." I did NOT look at the label. Duh. Next morning I used some to make my cereal and was surprised to find it tasted sweet. I finally looked at the label and found that the product I picked up actually had "Evaporated Cane Juice" (really just sugar, more info here.) as the second ingredient. Checking against the netrition site, I realized that I had not picked up the same product. The packaging is identical ... except for the "unsweetened" flag. The "regular" Original is a higher carb product, since it has sugar in it. Looking at the vanilla and chocolate labels at the grocery store I found that these are much, much higher in carbs than the unsweetened. I've been at this business for a long time and should have known better, but I THOUGHT I knew what I was buying, so I didn't do my usual nutritional and ingredient inspection before putting it in my cart. Doh!

| You're right Maggie...I found that out when I went to buy it. All 3 flavors are available in the regular or unsweetened variety and the labels look exactly alike except for the little banner that says unsweetened. I almost bought the wrong one myself.

| Yeah. When I went back to check the other two flavors, I realized that I could ONLY have picked up the wrong one. This store doesn't even carry the unsweetened. LOL!

| i wasn't able to find the unsweetened version of this locally, but i did pick up some soy slender, which seems to be very similar and it works out very well. i especially like it in my coffee so i'm not as tempted to overdo the cream... |
