Thumbs up FitFlops

Ok, I got a pair of Fitflops from Bath & Bodyworks (one of my favorite places)! - The FitFlop

They are flip-flops that are supposed to be engineered to give you a greater muscle workout. The image below talks about how they are intended to work.

I really like mine. I wear them to go shopping, and after a couple hours of walking in them, I can tell at the end of the day that my muscles - particular thighs and ab area - have gotten a greater than normal use as I am a little sore. It's comparable to how sore I'd usually feel after spending a whole day walking at a theme park or other, unusal level of activity. Not bad and gone by the next day, but I can definitely feel the difference between wearing these for a few hours versus wearing my summer standby, a pair of Birks.

They are very cushy and comfortable to wear. You sink into the shoe a bit with each step. The site suggests ordering a size smaller than your normal shoe size, but that didn't hold true for me. I've had the smaller size and I could use them, but I much prefer the correct size.

These ARE pricey - $45 for a pair of flipflops! And one of my cats loves to chew this type of rubber, so I have to keep them packed away in a closet when I'm not wearing 'em.

Mmmm. Rubber...nutty cat.

Overall, though, I really like them and especially like that it's a very easy way to increase your workout while maintaining your regular routine.

Thanks for the review! I'm a flip-flopper for about 40 years now. Nice to try a pair that actually does something ... other than feel like I'm not wearing shoes.

Nah, no Birkies for me. By the time I was able to afford a pair I found I wasn't all that impressed with them. .... besides, I was afraid someone might mistake me for some left-leaning liberal.

ROFL!

Too bad these are thong-types.....my little toe always hangs off flip-flops. Not a good look.

what? you don't like the pinky-toe outside your shoes look?

if it makes any difference, these are wider than normal flipflops. maybe that's why they suggest sizing up.

here's a picture of mine so you can have an idea. i have wide feet and still have room to spare. you have to promise not to laugh too hard at my still wearing them with the cat holes. this is even keeping them in my closet. sometimes a cat sneaks by me!
