Default New Rules on Links

Dear Members:

Effective immediately, I am instituting a change in policy regarding links.

You may NOT post links other bulletin board sites which don't allow links to lowcarbeating.com specifically or other sites like ours in general.

If you don't know what the other site's policy is, please find out BEFORE posting a link to them here. And I'm not saying there has to be a link to us there. I'm just saying that they have to allow it, should someone want to do it.

This does not apply to general information sites that don't have bulletin boards.

I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Andrea Mondello

Is there a list of no-no sites - ones already known have an objectionable link policy?

(I hope this question makes sense.) Does this mean sites where you cannot post a clickable LCE URL in the text of a forum posting? Or, rather, does it refer to a specific policy set by the site owner for links in the perimeter frames?

I ask because I sometimes go to a cat-oriented site that had a less well developed forum platform - it didn't provide for posting pictures, text formatting or clickable links. It wasn't a policy, per se; the owner just didn't have a very sophisticated forum interface. Actually, he's in the process of migrating to a better forum set-up with more capability.

A cat site is not in competition with us. Sorry I haven't been clear. I mean Low-Carb / Diet oriented sites. Posting links to your personal blogs, if they are personal and not commercial, are ok, espcially if you've linked back to LCE. Posting links to commercial sites that have nothing to do with lowcarb or diet is fine too.

I don't want to get too crazy about this, but I also don't want to post a list of "bad sites" on the board, for various reasons.

I understand, but I would avoid the dastards if I knew where they were...
(uh, ^^^ this is intended to sound funny, not mean)

I have no objection to mods removing any offending link, if I should inadvertantly post one.
