Default Survey on the forum

Dear members:

I just wanted to explain a bit about the survey link (how do you search for diabetes info?) above the forum.

I am doing this free of charge for a research company that is collecting information on how people look for diabetes info. The prizes will be awarded by the research company ( I will not be involved at all) and it really is on the up and up.

I know a bit about the purpose of the study, and although I can't reveal more, I will say that I think it will end up being beneficial to the diabetes and low carb communities.

So, if you can, please take a few minutes to fill out the survey!

And BTW, I will not get any of this info myself - I will not know who filled out the info or who wins (though right now this survey is EXCLUSIVE to LCE, so you have a VERY good chance of winning, statistically speaking) but I hope the winners will let me know!

good luck to you all!
Andrea

Thanks beachfox.... I'm hoping a few more people will take the survey, so far very few have.( The research people are disappointed!) It only takes a few minutes! Do you think you could spread the word to any of your carb-watching friends? Thanks!

OK, but I must say I resent the competition.

For anyone who's emailing the link: Make sure you just send the link as it appears on this page ( which is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=698692366971 ) If you link through and try to send the link from the first page of the survey it will not work.

Andrea:

If you can relay this info to the people running the survey, that would be great....since I did not list myself in any of the categories provided, my survey ended early. As someone whose family has a history of diabetes, I search for information frequently, and may have had some input to share. But, that was not a category on the research instrument...

Just my two cents for future studies...

I didn't register for 2 reasons - 1) I'm an Aussie *we all have some burden to bear!* and 2) and I found myself in the same situation as Tina B - otherwise would have be most interested in contributing to the research as I was warned in most grave terms by medicos that I was a prime candidate for diabetes and stroke. Nowdays I don't even need hypertension meds.

I'm with Tina, I didn't fit any category and so just answered 2 questions and was done. But I guess they need to know percentages of people answering the survey, who needs the info and those who probably don't. I just find being informed about what could be potential health problems very important, even if I don't have that particular problem.

Important!!!!

I spoke with the research group on this, and they were very sorry - they do want your feedback, even if you do not fit one of those categories!

They have changed the survey so you will be able to complete it even if you don't have diabetes or fit the criteria they had on that first question page...

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK! It was critical, and hopefully will "save" the survey as far as getting them the minimum number of results they'll need to make it valid.

Soooo - please try and take it again, if you have time.

(You still have a VERY VERY good chance of winning...) (and sorry, Maggie...)

best of luck! - andrea

Okay, this is weird. The first time I took the survey, I was able to click on the picture and get to the survey. But, I was only able to answer the 2 questions, so since it's changed I thought I'd take it again. BUT, this time it comes right back to LCE. Nothing on my computer has changed. No settings changed and no new software. What's up with that?

Okay, something's strange, Andrea. Didn't notice your link until after I posted my above message. Clicked on your link and it came back to LCE. Left LCE open, went to a new window of Explorer, copied the link, pasted it, said go... and it closed out my Explorer window. Do you think it's their survey or my computer?

I had the same experience as Debby; I was able to click the link before (using Mozilla), but now it comes back to LCE. I closed Mozilla and was able to access the survey when I came to the site via Internet Explorer.
