Buggy board...

Howdy folks. Your friendly, neighborhood LCE admin here.

You may notice some strange behavior on the boards. I recently added a number of security enhancements to the server, which is good, but sometimes, you have to work with it to get it configured just right for the software you are using, which is less good. You have to have your magic spells just so, to block out the bad guys only, but let the good guys in!

I am working with my support folks to get it fixed. But if you see something odd, that's probably what it is. You are free to PM me or report the specifics here if you'd like to report odd behavior.

UPDATE: i believe i got the bugs squashed. if you do notice any problems, please do note what you were trying to do specifically, what time it happpend (so i can review the logs for that period), and what error message or whatever you might have gotten.

Hey Dixie! Thanks for your work. I just got kicked out of the Vets thread. I scrolled down to see who was in the thread and it showed "0". So, I scrolled up and noticed that I was no longer signed in, so did that and when I was redirected, I didn't have about 10 pages of the thread.

Also, for the last several days, I have to sign in even though I always check "remember me." It's really not a big problem. Just a change.

Please note: If you are experiencing problems, please let me know about what day and time you saw them, what operating system you use (i.e. Windows XP, Mac OS10, whatever), and what browser and version you use (i.e. Internet Explorer 7, Firefox Version X, blah blah).

ok, peg (and anybody else who experienced similar problems) - i might have this fixed now...i think.

isn't that confidence infectious?

it appears that specific, legitmate member activities are sometimes triggering some of my new security rules with false positives. i am watching the logs for this and trying to knock 'em out as the come up. i imagine it will take a little while for all of them to appear, but i'm watching them closely.
