If you haven't noticed, at the bottom of the homepage there is a box where you can subscribe for emails when a new article is published to the LCE homepage. Because a lot of folks mostly hang in the forums, I thought it might come in handy. On days the homepage changes, you'll get an email with the title and an excerpt from the article so you don't miss anything that may be of interest to ya.

It's a service of Feedburner, and very easy to manage. Hope you like it!

tom - thank you for bringing up this concern.

feedburner is run by google, and is subject to google's privacy policy. i've never had issue with getting spam related to using google services, and their policies overall are decidedly antispam. that's why the email sub is double opt-in (i.e. you request it and then have to confirm your request at your subbed email address).

i have done some searching, though, and can find no indication of anybody ever complaining about spam as a result of a feedburner subscription. (i tend to believe it were a problem, people would be HOLLERING about it. i would!)

the feed does include an ad after the article summary and link. the ads go to help support the site, so do be aware of this.

if someone experiences any issue with spam they think may be related to LCE, please do let me know immediately. but i can tell you I work very hard behind the scenes to protect our users from spam on every level and do NOT share your email addresses or other info. spam is only good for whacking as far as we're concerned.
