Please don't, however, ignore the recall as "just precautionary." I do NOT share the Atkins Corporation's conclusion that none of their products were "really" affected. While it's being presented as an "overabundance of caution" for their customers' safety, I've heard a personal account (from a highly credible source) about someone becoming seriously ill as a result of eating some affected Atkins PB bars.

While many people who contract salmonella are fine, it can be life-threatening for some, particularly those who are very young, elderly, or have a compromised immune system. I would imagine our beloved furkids would probably fall into the category of being especially vulnerable as well. So please be aware, ok?
