Dear Board Members:

As LCE grows, it becomes more important than ever that I take steps to keep the community safe and welcoming.

Therefore, effective immediately, I have set uploaded image attachments to be held in a moderation que before they become publicly visible.

I have also set member photo albums to require approval before going live.

If you think about this, I'm sure you'll understand: there was always the possibility that things would get posted that were not family friendly or were just plain offensive.

Be assured that the moderators and I will work the que as fast as possible, and the only images that will not be approved will be offensive/innapropriate ones, in which case the user will be contacted privately.

If you don't hear from us, and you're post hasn't yet been approved, it just means we didn't get there yet. But I think you can expect it to be a fairly speedy process, given the number of admins.

Andrea, great plan. I was moderator on another weight loss board and it got VERY ugly when some trolls started posting horrible smut on there - we deleted them as fast as they posted them but had a system such as this been in place, it never would've happened to start with.
