Dear Members:

As many of you know, when my bulletin board hosting company "upgraded" our forums, many users began having various issues, and parts of the bullentin board stopped working, or began working only intermittently.

I have already had to disable the "new" chat room because most AOL users were not able to access it, a problem that the hosting company says they are working on, but can't give a "timetable" for the fix on.

I have given the hosting company what I feel to be MORE than enough time to resolve these issues: at this time it is clear we need a better solution.

Therefore, I have arranged to import all the data from this board to the dedicated server that handles the rest of LCE, and to have a new system up and running that is under my control.

I do not know exactly when this will take place, but I will keep you informed.

Be assured that I will move over EVERYTHING - your user records, posts, journals, etc, so that the transition between systems will be as seemless as possible.

I can't tell you how disappointed and frustrated I am about this whole thing. Based on what I was told about this "upgraded" bb sytem, I had very high expectations.

ah, well.

I will try and give you as much notice as I can as to when the switchover will be happening.

If you do stop by and find the board down, please bear with us - when the actual switchover happens, it should be fairly quick.

That's a bummer, Andrea, that you've gone to so much hard work and still haven't gotten a great solution - but never fear, we will stand strong and stand by you through these evolutions!

Thank you to all of you who have written to me with supportive messages. The board problems this am had nothing to do with what we're doing behind the scenes to move over all our data - they were a problem with the board server itself. Things will be resolved as quickly as possible - keep on posting!!!
