OK, I don't get it... how come some of you can post pictures that are large in size to your posts, but everytime I put in an attachment in my journal I ends up tiny? What am I doing wrong? (I don't want huge pics, just ones you can see!)

And while I'm at it, why can I see some of the pics people post and not others? (For instance, I can't see any of the pics in Heather's (Babybluejay) journal).

Oh, and one more thing... I think it has to do with Java, but I'm not sure how to fix it... any animated graphics or smilies aren't animated when I view them. If you have suggestions on how to fix this, that would help too.

(I am running Windows XP SP1, IE 6.0 and Zone Alarm Pro 4.0.)

Since we got upgrades on the board, when you post a pic in your journal or a thread, it is thumbnail size. Then you click on the thumbnail and you should get a larger view of the pic.

Do you think that's what's happening?

Mada- fyi- I'm moving this to the site feedback area, since that's where I'd be looking for this stuff.

Currently, for images, I have it set to allow you to upload things, and it makes a thumbnail of 150 x 150 pixels; clicking on the thumbnail should take you to the fullsize photo. It hasn't been that way for very long, though. Until recently, uploaded images only showed the file name, not the thumbnail images. (Bigger images that were displayed were from someone clicking the image icon in the text entry area, and entering the web address from where the image actually was. these images weren't on the lce site, but elsewhere on the internet. that's why you couldn't make your images that way.)

i did a little searching on your animations question-it appears zone alarm has an option for turning animations on and off...i dont' have zone alarm, so i can't verify this, but the instructions i saw were this -

I have two more questions:

1. I still can't see some people's pics (for instance, in Heather's (babybluejay's) journal she's got some thumbnails, but all I can see are the words "attached thumbnails" (you'll find some if you go to the last page of posts)... what's up?

2. I'd like to add a ticker from ticker factory to my sig, and it shows up in my sig in User CP, but not on my posts. What am I doing wrong there?

it looks like you've got the ticker set up...at least, i'm seeing it in this post...did you get that figured out?

the thumbnails i'm a little confused about, because i can see 'em (on heather's journal, pg 50, for example, there's a pic of her with brown hair...)

i am getting ready to change the way images are store for the board, though, and it's possible that might make a difference. i'm not sure, though.

if you could pm me a link to a page or two with images you see and a page or two with images you don't, that might help me as i could try and see if there are any differences i can determine from the ones you could see and the ones you cannot.
