| I'm trying to search for the term "green tea." I've gone into "Find" and typed in 1) green tea 2) green 'and' tea 3) green '+' tea 4) +green +tea HELP! Each time, I get the same results with over 500 matches, and none of them have to do with green tea. They either have to do with the word "green" OR the word "tea." What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help, Tara |

| Ok, here's the answer: "From: Network Administrator Date: 04 Dec 2003 at 10:23 AM Hello andrea: You are not doing anything wrong - the database and application are not keyed to index words of 3 letters or less - doing so slows down the search dramatically and increases the size of index files equally dramatically. Sorry that it's not more obvious than that and that we don't have some wording which reads something like "The word 'tea' is too short to be indexed and has been removed from your search.." or something to that effect. Regards, Corporate Network Administrator" I can definitely understand why they do this... but as he said, it would be good if they had some verbage about it. sorry you can't do what you want to do.... |
