great job, interesting changes.
I did notice that the listing of who is on line is showing my full login name, not my display name. Not real important, but just wanted to point it out.

First off, let me say that I think the new board looks great! I think once a couple of bugs are worked out, everyone is going to be delighted with the changes.

I've noticed, though, that the post numbers aren't correct. What I mean is that on the old board, I've made about 23 posts... on the new board it shows I've made 6 total, although more than that -- at least 20 posts -- show up in a search on my username on the new board. NOT a big deal, although I'll be a newbie a bit longer. :crying:

My second note (thusfar) is that I'd like to see Avatars available for everyone again. I recognized people almost more by their avatars than by their usernames.

Oh, I also had a bit of trouble fixing my profile -- it wouldn't let me change anything, it told me I was under 13, and was just generally stubborn. Once I re-did my password, though, I seemed to be able to make the changes I needed to.

Some forums did not come over, including private messages, which i think were counted as "posts" in the old forum - also if you've ever had a post deleted it wouldn't count here, AND if you posted in the photo galleries it wouldn't be here.

And remember, posts from 3/31 to today did not come over.

That might account for the difference.

As far as avatars, no avatar set came with this board - I will look for one.

On the other hand, you can upload any 80x80 jpg, gif or png as your avatar here.

as for the profile thing, I think I've got that fixed now.

I did find it amusing though that in my Welcome, Charski it says I last visited 12-21-1969 at 11:00 PM - when I was sweet 16! LOL!!

I only had about 2-3 private messages, so the post count I get when I do a search on my username would be correct -- which would be approximately 22 after this post. I'm only being credited with 8 of 22 posts that DO show up on this board.

Scott&Danielle is being credited with ZERO posts, even though they have made about 27. I noticed this while reading a post they started.

It's really not a big deal as I don't care about the karma count all that much, but I'm a tiny bit concerned it may be symptomatic of a larger bug. Thus the alert.

As far as avatars go, when I go to "edit avatar" this is what I see:

Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.
x Do not use an avatar
Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.

There is no place for us to upload or specify an avatar. In fact, the "Do not use an avatar" is checked and cannot be unchecked. I suspect that only people with moderator privileges can do that... or maybe the program still thinks I'm under 13.

Oh, yeah... and whenever I try to post with more than 2 smilies, it tells me I have too many images and makes me remove some.

Hi Andrea....

Wooohooo...on the new board!!!

I am finally able to change my signature and update my profile. YES! YES! YES!

The change in posts doesn't bother me....nor the 1969 date...smiles....

The problem I have now is receiving notification of private messages and if someone has added to a post that I have made or replied to.......I went to Edit Options...and found where I should be able to change this...but it won't change.

First off, EXCELLENT WORK! The new board is beautiful! I really appreciate your hard work.

I would like to have my 'display name' back up (Tara), the board keeps displaying my username 'jvl315'. I haven't been able to find a way to edit this. Also, like Sandlapper, I am getting the same message re: avatars, it's not giving me an option to upload an avatar, but I can input a URL.

Get some sleep, girl! This is not a big problem...whenever you get to it.

The only thing I've noticed that would concern me is that my member name is showing what my log-in name is, which are two different names. I suppose the only harm in that is that nobody would recognize "svander" as "sk8ersma".

My posts are also a much lower number than I had.

ok. one more. April told me how she got her custom avatar up, but I don't have an option for a custom avatar. Could that just be open to the 'all-powerful' moderators? They seem to be the only ones with personal avatars anymore.

Hope you are getting some rest. I'm sure it will all work out in time, and none of us can't live with the little problems. It looks great!!!
