Women & Statins

I've been hearing a lot lately that women should not take statins, that they are indicated only in men under 65 who have had a heart attack, etc.

I came across this site that has some pretty interesting info on the matter.

I know a lot of women who will pop whatever pills a doctor prescribes, without question. Too bad that many are popping statins, when it appears that they don't help women one bit.

I COMPLETELY agree with you!

EVERYONE should fully research any health condition they have and the various possible treatments. I would never advise someone to go against medical advice, but there is nothing wrong with being well-informed or seeking a second opinion.

i am really surprised sometimes when i start researching this stuff myself how much your docs just don't tell you...or what interacts with what. i've been guilty for many years of not asking enough questions or doing enough research myself, but i'm much more aware of that sort of thing that i used to be.
