Wow I need to check in here more often!!

All is going well here...with a few foibles. I now have to be outside in the Florida sun at work all day, so am trying my best to stay hydrated...but all I want to do is shower and sleep once home. Hoping 2nd trimester energy burst happens soon!!

We had a little bit of a scare last doctor's visit. Doc couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler and tried for 20 minutes...so we went the next day for an ultrasound to confirm a heartbeat. Unfortunately the tech was completely rude and was more focused on my cervical length (I have to have an ultrasound every visit) and briefly saw the heartbeat before saying I was done. Sometimes these people need to remember the panic and anxiousness we mom's go through during these times.

Found out today that my hubby is opposite me for RH factor so I'll have to have the Rhogam shot again this pregnancy *ouch*. Was really hoping to avoid that this time around. But I'll do what is necessary.

Other than that...all is good. Hoping to find out baby's sex soon and go to doc on Tuesday for next appointment so I'll check in. Don't even mention weight gain to me!! My doc's scale reflected a 20 lbs. gain in one month where mine said 4 lbs. BELIEVE ME I argued with her!!! According to my scale, I've only gained 2 lbs. this past month...so I'm anxious to see what her's says.

Week 40 - got two days to go. Tummy is HUGE and baby is too. Can't wait to be a mom and back on my diet. I'm actually starting back on a diet tomorrow - I think I have enough fat on me that the baby isn't going to suffer, plus I'll be eating enough to nourish her. Total weight gain so far has been 95 pounds - WAY TOO MUCH!!! I know the reason is for the carbs and just an overall excess. Will let you all know when Sydney arrives - hopefully within the next few days. Doctor wants to induce if she's late - I don't, because I have a feeling that my due date is August 16th, and not the 8th. I can wait a week - lots of women go over by a week, and its not unheard of to deliver a 9+ pound baby. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies!!! Hoping all your babies are doing well!

Cheers (can't wait to really have a glass of champagne)!

Well, Day Two of being overdue. This is why I think August 16th is my real due date. The weight is killing my back, so I can't wait for baby to arrive! Hope everyone is doing well.

ouch sizzling!! hang in there! try getting your hubby to rub your back with tennis balls. don't be surprised if you're in back labor and don't realize it..happened with my son!!

I'm hanging in. just got work that my QUAD screen came back as high risk for Downs Syndrome so I have to go for a level 2 ultrasound, just waiting for the perinatologist to call. already pretty much made up my mind I won't have an amnio if they don't find markers in the ultrasound.

Talking Re: Pregnancy and Low Carb lifestyles

WE MADE IT!!!

Labour started on Thurs, Aug 12th at 2:30 am, light enough that I could sleep through it, but it woke me up every 45 min or so. By 6am, I started timing - 4 - 5 min apart, lasting 50 - 80 seconds. Still managable, so didn't rush to hospital. Had a shower, started timing again at 8am, slowed down to every 6 - 9 min, lasting 45 - 50 seconds apart. By 11am, they were every 3 - 5 min, lasting 45-60 seconds, and getting more intense. Since my blood pressure had been rising lately we decided to head to the hospital now, which was noon. Got to the hospital, checked in, and was hooked up to the dopplers by 12:30 pm. Within the next 15 minutes, they hooked me to the IV, measured that I was 7 cm dilated, but that my water hadn't broken, my cervix hadn't thinned, and the baby hadn't dropped. Another doctor came in and saw that baby's heart rate was dropping with every contraction. By 12:45 pm, I was being taken to OR for emerg c-section. Got the spinal, which really wasn't that bad - the general anaestetic feels like a bee sting, then I didn't feel the spinal at all, which is just an injection, different from the epidural, which is when they insert the little tube. DH came in after I was laying down, was all dressed in scrubs (he looked very cute), and was a wonderful support. Sydney was born at 1:54 pm, weighing 9lb 2oz, and 22.5 inches long, with APGAR of 9 and 9. Big healthy baby! Took them about 20 min to get her out, and about 40 min to put me back together.

So, that's the scoop. Weighed myself before and after the birth, and lost 25 pounds of baby, amniotic fluid and placenta. Feel better already, and have lost another 5 pounds of fluid. Just 100 to go!

Attached a few pics...

KD - hope those tests come back with good news... will be thinking of you. Will check in periodically here now, but now I'm back to Induction. My appetite had actually dropped a lot, which is great.

So, good luck to all, and hope that all your babies come into this world healthy and happy.

All the best to you guys!!!!

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone! Sydney is great - she only cries when she's hungry, then goes back to sleep. Her fussiest time is 10:30 - 11 pm, which is unfortunate, because that's when I'm the most tired, but we make our way through it.

Now, the next challenge - losing my next 100 pounds! The day of going to the hospital, I was 263 - which is 100 pounds higher than my pre-pregnancy weight of 160. Coming home, I was 236 - 27 pound loss, so it just goes to show how much amniotic fluid I was carrying. I've lost another 10, down to 225 today, so just 63 pounds to go before pre-pregnancy, but 90 pounds to go to get to ultimate goal of 135. I can't believe I gained ONE HUNDRED POUNDS in eight months. It just goes to show how intolerant my body is to carbs. I was very fortunate that I didn't get gestational diabetes. I completely lost control and wasn't planning on putting any restrictions on myself after that. Next baby, I won't do the same thing. I could barely walk around. I even had to take a chair to the sink just to wash dishes! The pain in my back was too uncomfortable. Anyways, looking forward to getting my body back and being able to run up the stairs again without waddling.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

You can do it Sizzling!!!

We just came from the doc and I actually lost another pound this past month (lost 2 last month). My BP was normal and blood sugars as well so I was happy. They also did my 20 week anatomy ultrasound and the tech is "70% sure it's a girl." Seems she "saw something...but couldn't commit 100%, but also didn't see a penis." Hmmmmmm...wondering whether I should get excited or wait for a better odd.

My due date is still running Jan 6/7 which puts me having my scheduled CSection Dec 26/27.

CONGRATULATIONS NIKI!!! :jump:

She is a BEAUTIFUL baby and I *KNOW* you can lose the rest.

Hang in there, Knowles! Glad you have had such good news. It will be here before you know it!

I have FINALLY lost almost all of the pregnancy weight... now I'm back where I started with a hundred pounds to go...
*sigh*
I just won't think about that right now. Taking it one day at a time...

Hey everyone....been awhile since I posted, but I have been trying to keep up. Been busy trying to buy a house to bring the baby home to.

I am glad to see that everyone is well. Niki and Summer, I know that you can do it .

I had a 1 hour GTT last week, 'cuz I have gained 26 lbs and am now @ 28 weeks. My blood sugar came back a little high (140) so I had to do the 3 hour GTT. My poor arms! But, I am fine....no gestational diabetes here!

Well, hopefully I will hear about my house here shortly. Wish us the best of luck!

Everyone have happy, healthy pregnancies, and the others enjoy your babies! A few more weeks, and I'll be back to midnight feedings and poopy diapers. I just hope I can do it!

Take care everyone!
