Question Natural HRT?

I was wondering if anyone has tried a product called Swiss Natural HRT? I've been taking it to try to get rid of hot flushes. Not working yet. It's got Standardized soy, standardized red clover, standardized chaste tree berry, standardized wild yam root, and standardized burdock root in it. The reason I am asking is that now I can soooo itchy. Does anyone think it's a reaction to these things. I know nothing about herbs but as far as I can remember I haven't introduced anything new into my diet except these pills. I've been taking them for about a month now. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the herbs in your pills. But I suppose than anyone can be allergic to just about anything.

Winter is a skin drying time for me lately, which is very unusual as I've always had REALLY greasy skin throughout my teens, 20s and even 30s. My face and scalp are still somewhat greasy every day, but my arms and legs are dry this time of year.

On the other hand, if you've developed any sort of a rash, I'd be inclined to blame the itching on the new pills.

If there's no rash, see if a regular regimine of body lotion helps get you through the winter dryness. If the itching is really bad, or if there's a rash, you might consider some Benadryl and maybe a trip to the doc--who probably won't be able to tell you what the problem is and will automatically assume that it's the herbs.

Hi Donna,
Do you have a defined rash or redness on your chest, back, arms or legs? Also, do you notice the itchy feeling more after a hot bath or shower? IMO, I would stop taking the pills and see what happens. I've seen many drug reactions go from just itching to full blown allergic reactions the more the drug was taken into the body.

As always, if you don't see immediate improvement, I would seek medical advice.

HTH

Remember that herbs can be quite powerful. A reminder that we should always list vitamins and herbs as daily medications at your doctor, dentist, etc.

I don't have any rashes of any kind. The itching seems to be inside my skin mostly on my feet and hands. I don't think it's from the cold weather because I'm always slathereing on lotions so I don't look like an aligator. I think maybe Tuesday I will take a trip to the health food store and see what they have to say. I'm been taking these pills for 36 days now and they say it can take up to 2 months before they kick in. I'd love to get rid of the hot flushes but not if I'm allergic to the pills.
