| Here's a recent news item about lack of estrogen causing weight gain and subsequent health problems in menopausal women: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070813/...OQsWuV02gE1vAI I'm convinced that menopause caused my weight loss to "pause", and perhaps it was due to the decrease in estrogen; however, there's no way I'm going to use hormone replacement therapy just to lose weight. I really think that following low carb, even though I've had a really slow loss, is a protection against the weight gain from lack of estrogen. Anyway, I thought this was an interesting article.

| Interesting article Nita. Now I have something else to blame...besides the fact that I had my face stuck in an ice cream bucket! lol

| I've been on a small amount of bio-identical hormones, including estrogens, for a number of years. I don't take the concerns over hormone replacement lightly but as a side effect it may indeed have also helped with weight maintenance to some degree. I say "to some degree" because even estrogen doesn't help during "face in the ice cream bucket" periods, as we all can testify.
