Hello, I wanted to start on the Atkins WOE but am concerned that since I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen-lo for birth control that this would hinder my efforts. I have been unable to find any carb information on this. Does anyone have an insights? Thank you!

Welcome to the boards!!! I was on a low estrogen OC when I started this WOE. On induction, I managed to lose 22 lbs. I have gone from 185-190 lbs. to 139-142 lbs., and from wearing a men's 36-30 jeans to a woman's 10 jeans and medium sized shirts (I was wearing XL shirts at the time of starting). Keep in mind, and may anyone help me out here, but estrogen is a fat producing hormone, which is why men lose faster on this WOE, if I remember my reading correctly. I would be able to be completely accurate if I had my book, but I have loaned it out to a friend that is also following this WOE. There are plenty of other people on here that will be able to answer any question that you may have. Your weightloss will slow down after induction. This is common. In my experience with birth controll pills, they did slow my loss down a bit, but keep in mind, I was on a lower dose of estrogen. My cycle is alot better now, less cramping. I am no longer on OBC, and there was just a slight change. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey, and welcome to the community! "It's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!"

I want to follow Atkins and have done quite a bit of research online. I want to start Monday so I am going to run out this weekend to buy the book and get any last minute information I might need.
