I really need to ask...ever since I have started this WOE, I have had loose stools. I mean practically every day 3-4 times.
I thought in the beginning that this would last a week or so, but now a month in, I am still having issues.
Anyone else had this experience?

Renee

renee:

loose stools in the beginning are not uncommon. could be just the change in your diet, could be the increased fat - not everyone does well with that. most of the time, cutting back on your fat intake a bit and upping your cheese helps.

but in your case, after a whole month, i think you should check with your doctor. that doesn't sound right to me.

I agree with Andrea.
Diarhea early on is common, but it shouldn't last a month!

How much fiber are you eating? Are you eating enough veggies? It might seem *backward*, but increasing your fiber intake will actually HELP stop diarrhea. Make sure you are eating lots of salads and fresh veggies every day.
And do see your doctor!

Are you eating any sugar-free or artificially low carb foods that have sugar alcohols in them? Shake, bars, candy, gum, etc?

Oh! Good point Brightlady!
Those sugar-free candies and low-carb bars tear up my stomach.
That *could* be the culprit... yes, are you eating any of those???

I haven't had any of the low carb bars or anything but I do use Splenda in my coffee in the morning.
I was actually thinking of making a doctors appt but hubby came home yesterday saying we no longer have health insurance! The premiums went up to $636 a month! I cannot afford that! Geez So I will try to eat more fiber but I really think I am getting plenty of that. I've always kind of had irritable bowels anyway. Sorry for the yucky subject I appreciate your advice.

You need medical coverage. Check with any club you belong. Costco in my area has a group plan as does the grange. Check with your state health department they have lots of different programs.

Call around to private doctors they might be able to make some kind of arrangement. Try a naturopath Dr. they maybe cheaper and frequently do not do the expensive tests.

Hope you feel better
