For folks out there with Fibromyalgia. Have you experience major flare ups when you exercise? I have doing Adkin for a year, have reach my goal and have been exercising at Curves during this time with no problems. Two years ago I was dignosed as having Fibromyalgia but the pain has been minimum. Recently I have been experiencing increase pain in the bones in my arms and shin the day after I exercise. The pain gradually decreases until I go and exercise again. Have you experience pain in the bones and what have you found that helps? I don't want to quit exercising but I may have to since the pain is getting to bad. I have an appointment with Rheumatologist who knows and treats this disease and I am already taking Elavil to help me sleep which has done wonders. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Boy, that is unusual, unless you are OverDoing it... Generally, exercise seriously helps my FM.

Hi b4!

Good to have you here. And you've already reached you goal! How great is that???

You have an appointment with the specialist already which is good - maybe now just keep a written journal of your pains. Like where it hurts, what time of the day, where you are in relation to TOM and anything else you can think of even if you don't think it is relevant. I have lupus, RA and fibro so it is sometimes hard to know what is causing what.

I wouldn't call it a major flare if the pain does decrease when you aren't exercising. Hopefully that is not what is happening. Could you maybe change your routine and see if that helps you any?

Keep us posted and good luck!

Connie

Hi,

I was diagnosed with sero-negative arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome & ?fibro last year. I have pain what feels like radiating up my left foot in the bone. Even with very gentle exercise it does increase.

I just try to be very careful not to do too much. Wear good quality sneakers when I'm doing any walking and don't do anything impact.

Since starting low carbing 2 months ago I have been able to go for short walks. Before then somedays I couldn't even walk to the letterbox some days.

I have lost 14pounds which by alot of peoples standards is very slow but considering I can't do much exericse I think it is good. I'm hoping that as I lose more weight the pain wil ease.

Goodluck.

Toni,

I'm so glad you are starting to feel better! I have quite a bit of info on my site about FM. I'm in the process of updating my site with more information, but it will be a while before I get it up.

Keep up the good work!

Blessings!

Hi B4,
I am so glad I have found others with fibromyalgia, maybe we should form our little group, what do you think?
in response to your post, the answer is yes, if I over due ANYTHING physical, I am in bed for the next day or two.
I have been fighting fibromyalgia and Polimyalgia for 8 years, I had to go on medical disability, and my life is controlled by these two conditions. I have found an increadible reumatologist that has been a life savior. He insisted that I exercise, and at first I bulked like a mule, but I started to do Tai Chi,which consist of slow choreographed moves. gentle walking, starting in the begining [3 minutes] Since we have a pool in our complex I do swim 2 /3 time a week for about 10 / 15 minutes. If I do it longer I pay the price by hurting later.
I take several medications that help some. the Atkins diet [I have been on it since November6 ]has been very helpful in that I have eliminated sugar and starches
my suggestion to you is to take it slowly at Curve [ I don't know the program ] and fallow your doctor advise.
Please keep posting and let me know how you feel.
